Headteacher’s Welcome
Welcome to The Piggott School: Charvil Primary
On behalf of all the Pupils, Staff, and Governors, I would like to welcome you to The Piggott School: Charvil Primary.
The Piggott School is an all-through school educating children from ages 4 to 18. At our Charvil site, we provide a warm, nurturing, and ambitious learning environment. Because our year groups consist of a single class, we offer a unique "small school" feel where every child is known individually, ensuring they are both supported and challenged from the very start of their educational journey.
We maintain a strong focus on academic achievement, set within a culture of high expectations. However, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom. To develop the whole child, we provide a rich array of extracurricular opportunities—from sports and the arts to leadership roles—enabling our learners to discover their passions and reach their full potential.
Our culture and ethos are rooted in our Christian vision, which permeates every aspect of school life. This vision is inspired by The Parable of The Good Samaritan:
‘Jesus told him, Go and do likewise.’ — Luke 10:37
This teaching provides a foundation for the development of wisdom, kindness, respect, and reflection, guiding our learners from their first steps in EYFS through to Year 13 at Wargrave. Our core values—Respect, Honesty, Equality, Dedication, Courage, and Love—stem from the Fruits of the Spirit and are lived out daily by our pupils and staff.
We are incredibly proud of our school and the confident, well-rounded individuals our pupils become. Please do not hesitate to arrange an appointment to visit us and experience our wonderful community for yourself.
