Generation Green at The Piggott School

Help us sow the seeds for a greener tomorrow

April 1st 2009 UPDATE - Electricity consumption is down by 13% during the last year.

I’m happy to tell you that The Piggott School has joined Generation Green, a programme from British Gas to help our children do their bit to make the planet greener.

Greener at school

During the year, we will be undertaking green tasks to encourage us to save energy and cut our carbon footprint. Every task we complete earns credits called Green Leaves. When we reach our Green Leaf Goal we receive green-themed rewards for the whole school.

Greener at home

Any support you can give us will be very welcome. Small actions like switching off lights to save energy can make a big difference. Your own green actions could even earn Leaves you can donate to The Piggott School to help us reach our goal.

To qualify for this we need 115,000 leaves.

The Piggott School Generation Green Profile

Visit our Generation Green - School Profile page to find out how we are doing.

You can help by completing their Energy Savers Report by logging onto www.britishgas.co.uk and clicking in the box in the top right hand corner. This takes about ten minutes and when you have finished you can donate your 150 leaves to the school. The report is very useful and you do not have to have British Gas as your supplier to take part. If you use British Gas as your supplier, receiving household bills online to save paper is just one simple way to get Leaves.
