Church Foundation
The Piggott School is a school with a Church Foundation. This reflects the School's history and the involvement of The Church of England in the education of young people in their communities; it does not mean our pupils or their families have to have a Christian faith, or any religious faith. But everyone is expected to respect the teachings of the Christian faith.
Interfaith Prayer Group
In recognition of the multi-faith nature of Piggott and in support of the staff, students and their families, an Interfaith Prayer Group will be meeting on the first Friday of every month from April 2010.
When: |
8.00 to 8:20am, first Friday of each month in school term. |
Where: |
Please meet in the Reception area. |
What format: |
At the start of each prayer meeting, a prayer will be recited from one of the faith traditions represented at the school. Each month, a different faith tradition will be represented through the opening prayer. Ten minutes of silent prayer will follow, turning to God as each of us understands Him. This form of prayer was successfully trialled at St. John’s Primary School in Reading where parents from different faiths began meeting five years ago; the silence becomes the prayerful meeting point of all faiths’ forms of prayer. |
Please join us – the first opportunity to meet will be on Friday 23rd April 2010.
