The Piggott School

A Church of England Academy

We are in the top 1%

Dear Parents

The national comparison tables for GCSE results were released recently. They can be viewed at https://www.compare-school-performance.service.gov.uk/schools-by-type?step=phase&geographic=all&region=0&phase=secondary&for=secondary

I am extremely pleased to report that The Piggott School was 37th out of 3929 secondary schools with a Progress 8 score of +0.96. This means, on average, every student achieved nearly one grade higher in every progress 8 subject compared to an average school.

This places us in the top one percent of schools nationally for progress at GCSE. I am sure you will agree this is an amazing achievement.

I thank all the teaching and support staff for their continued dedication, commitment and professionalism. Each and every one of them gives above and beyond to make The Piggott School a fantastic learning community. Congratulations to all the students who worked so hard to achieve so highly; and to their parents for their unstinting support.

School finishes on Friday 20th October 2017 at normal time and children return to school on Wednesday 1st November 2017. Our biennial exchange visit arrived in China this morning and our sixth form Iceland trip takes place during the October half term.

I wish you a peaceful and restful half term break.

Yours sincerely
