Key Worker and Vulnerable Children Plan

Dear Parents

Apologies to those of you to whom this does not apply. IT are working on a distribution list just for eligible parents.

School will be open for Key Workers’ children and for vulnerable children from March 23rd 2020 until the foreseeable future. Definitions of Key Workers and of vulnerable children are available on the Government website.

In the first week we will mainly be providing childcare, not necessarily structured education, as we put a plan together. Until we know the number of children, and their needs, we are planning for a holiday club experience in the first instance.

Children should wear sporty type clothes as there will be lots of physical activities as well as reading, maths and games.

Both Charvil and Wargrave will be open next week. We will review the two site policy next week when we have more information about demand for places.

Both sites are opening from 8am to 5pm. Parents can drop off and pick up at any time. Please report to reception at Charvil or the library at Wargrave.

We are planning to provide breakfast, a break-time snack, hot lunch and a snack to take home free of charge. Please give your children breakfast on Monday so as to give us time to set up. Children should bring a water bottle each day and we will also provide juice.

Children should bring a reading book every day.

We aim to be open during the Easter holidays.

Mr Hillerton is creating an online system whereby parents can indicate if their child is attending that day. In the meantime, please email Charvil reception or Wargrave school office before Monday indicating your plans for the week in regards to attendance.

I will send out more information in the forthcoming days.

Yours sincerely
